All Blend Fabrics from Grupo Fides are produced with BCI Cotton (Better Cotton Initiative) and Polyester derived from PET bottles. They receive a special brushed finish to provide a super-soft and comfortable peletized touch. Their use brings significant environmental advantages, such as avoiding the use of petroleum, a 70% reduction in energy required to produce virgin polyester, and the recycling of discarded plastic material.
Fabric Storage: The knit rolls should be stored horizontally and facing the same direction, not crossed (one over the other) in a 'teepee' formation. They should not be leaned against walls, furniture, or other objects to avoid deformation, creases, and breaks in the fabric. Storage should be done while protecting the fabric from moisture and natural or artificial sunlight.
Pattern / Lay: For optimal cutting results, before laying, knit tensions should be released to the maximum, ensuring better stability in the dimensional behavior of the knit. We suggest releasing the knit from the roll, folding it, and letting it rest for at least 24 hours. Only after this period, begin the laying process.
Sewing: To achieve high-quality sewing, we must always consider the properties of the product (fabric) being sewn and the technical aspects of the sewing machine. Some points to be observed more carefully include: a) If the class and type of stitch are the most suitable for the type of fabric; b) If the stitch size or the number of stitches per centimeter is suitable for the fabric; c) The thread count should match the needle thickness, and both should match the fabric; d) The stitch setting should be balanced, not too loose, as it will affect the appearance. It also should not be overly tight, as it can compromise the sewing safety; e) The balance of the sewing stitch; f) Check the pressure of the sewing machine's presser foot, and assess if it is not rough; g) Check if the feed dogs are not worn, and if the needle plate hole is suitable for the needle thickness.
Sewing Instructions: The fabric will be the most important factor in deciding which needle point shape should be used for a particular sewing operation. The type of fabric, the number of fabric layers to be sewn, and the texture are criteria for determining the ideal needle point shape and the needle thickness.
